72 hours in Riccione, as our guests live them

A short wellness journey on the Italian Adriatic, between the sea, good food and the warm hospitality of Romagna.

Some hotels are remembered for their rooms.
Others for their view, their restaurant or their spa.

At Atlantic Hotel Riccione, our guests often tell us about something different: how they felt while they were here.

They talk about waking up by the sea. About long breakfasts. About swimming in warm seawater while it is cool outside. About dinner, a massage, a conversation with someone from our team.

And, surprisingly often, they talk about coming back.

So rather than describing Atlantic through a list of services, we thought we would tell you what a short stay here can actually feel like.

Day one — Arriving by the sea

The first thing you notice is how close everything is.

Atlantic faces the Adriatic, directly on Riccione's seafront. The beach is in front of you, the harbour is a short walk away and the streets of the town centre are just behind the hotel.

You arrive, leave your luggage and immediately feel that your holiday has started.

One of our guests described it simply as a “fantastic location on the seafront, facing the beach.”

But location is only the beginning.

Again and again, when guests tell us what they remember about Atlantic, they mention the welcome.

The smiles at reception. Someone taking care of a request. A familiar face when they return. The feeling that hospitality here is personal rather than procedural.

One guest found the best possible definition:

“Here you really feel at home.”

Perhaps that is the most important part of arriving.

And when it is finally time to go upstairs, the sea remains part of the experience. Many of our rooms and suites look towards the Adriatic; the Deluxe Sea View rooms and panoramic suites make waking up beside the sea one of the pleasures of staying here.

Day two — Waking up in Riccione

Open the curtains and the Adriatic is there.

There is no reason to hurry.

Breakfast is one of those moments that our guests mention remarkably often: the choice, the quality, the attention to detail and, above all, the pleasure of having time.

Coffee, freshly baked pastries, something savoury, fruit, another coffee.

Our Grand Atlantic Breakfast is deliberately generous: sweet and savoury dishes, fresh juices, coffee served at the table and, when the season allows it, the pleasure of breakfast with the sea close by.

A holiday on the Italian coast should sometimes be as simple as this.

Then you decide what kind of day you want.

Riccione is outside the door. You can walk along the seafront, explore the town, go shopping or simply head towards the beach.

Or you can stay exactly where you are.

An afternoon in seawater

There is something particularly satisfying about looking at the Adriatic and then stepping into warm seawater.

Atlantic's wellness experience has a strong connection with the sea.

The Atlantic pools and Thalasso Spa use natural seawater: the main pool is heated to 30°C, while the Thalasso Spa includes seawater whirlpools heated to 37°C, steam, sauna and spaces dedicated to rest.

Thanks to the telescopic glass roof, the seawater pool becomes an indoor pool during the cooler months.

This makes Atlantic different from many seaside hotels once summer is over.

A wellness break here does not depend entirely on sunshine or beach weather.

Autumn, winter and spring have their own rhythm.

Outside, you can walk beside the sea. Inside, you can swim in warm seawater, spend time in the spa, enjoy a treatment or simply do very little.

And sometimes doing very little is precisely the point of coming away for two or three days.

Our guests often remember the spa not only for the facilities, but for the people who looked after them.

That distinction matters to us.

Wellness is not simply a place you enter.

It is time someone helps you dedicate to yourself.

Evening — The pleasure of staying for dinner

Then comes another important part of an Italian journey: dinner.

At Atlantic, food is not an accessory to the stay.

It is part of it.

At Ristorante Green, dinner brings together contemporary Italian cooking, seafood, carefully selected ingredients and the flavours of our region, accompanied by a wine selection designed for evenings that do not need to be rushed.

This is also where Romagna enters the story.

Not as folklore, but through something very simple and very Italian: the importance of sitting around a table.

Here, food is conversation. It is hospitality. It is knowing where an ingredient comes from, enjoying another glass of wine and discovering that dinner has lasted longer than planned.

Benvenuti al Green

Our guests repeatedly mention food when they describe their stay.

One wrote simply about “excellent food”. Another remembered “the quality of the food” alongside the welcome and the care of the hotel.

We like that.

Because a memorable wellness weekend should not require choosing between wellbeing and pleasure.

They belong together.

One more morning

This is perhaps the best moment of a short break.

You have already forgotten what day it is.

There is another breakfast waiting downstairs. Perhaps another swim. A walk beside the sea. A coffee in town.

Or perhaps this is the morning to see a little more of where you are.

Riccione belongs to Romagna, a part of Italy where the coast and the countryside live remarkably close to one another.

Leave the sea behind and within a short distance the landscape begins to change: hills, vineyards, olive trees, medieval towns and villages where food and wine are still part of everyday life.

It is one of the pleasures of spending three days here rather than simply passing through.

You can have the Adriatic in the morning and the hills of Romagna in the afternoon.

Then come back to the sea.

And checkout does not necessarily mean that Riccione has finished with you.

A two- or three-night stay is short enough to fit into a busy life, but long enough to change its rhythm.

That is why Atlantic works particularly well as a short seaside escape throughout the year.

The Adriatic changes with the seasons.

The experience changes with it.

Perhaps one night deserves something special

For those who want the sea to remain part of the experience even behind the door of their room, the Atlantic Luxury Suites sit high above Riccione with panoramic views of the coast.

Some have private terraces and whirlpools filled with natural seawater heated to 37°C.

It is a rather special way to end a day on the Adriatic: looking at the same sea you have been walking beside, now from above and in warm water.

Why people come back

Hotels naturally talk about rooms, restaurants, pools and spas.

Guests tend to remember something else.

In the comments they leave us, certain words return again and again: kindness, welcome, cleanliness, food, attention, professionalism.

And then there are the sentences we could never write about ourselves.

“A hotel that has truly remained in my heart.”

“We will definitely be back.”

Some guests have been returning to Atlantic for years.

Perhaps that is the best way to understand this hotel.

You may first choose Atlantic because it faces the sea.

Because you want a few days in Riccione.

Because there is a heated seawater pool and a Thalasso Spa.

Because you want to eat well.

Because you are curious about this corner of Italy and about the particular way Romagna has of welcoming people.

But these are reasons to arrive.

The reason to return is often much more personal.

And that is the Atlantic experience we hope you will discover for yourself.
